STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield wrestling team bounced back from a loss to Wisconsin Rapids with a solid 40-24 win over Stevens Point Area Senior High on Thursday night at SPASH.
The Tigers improve to 11-4 overall and 2-3 in the Valley with the victory.
Marshfield’s Justin Sternweis beat a ranked wrestler for the second straight week, defeated Jake Stremkoski 9-1 in the 171-pound match.
Brad Dolezal (160 pounds) continued his perfect season for the Tigers, pinning Nick Molski in 5:31.
Torin Boernke had the Tigers’ only other pin, taking down Mitch Mallek in 2:51 of the 140-pound match.
Marshfield wraps up its Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet season next Thursday at home against Wausau East. The WVC meet is Feb. 5 at Wausau East.
