Plover pulls away late to down Marshfield Senior Legion baseball

PLOVER – Plover scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to push past Marshfield 8-2 in a Senior American Legion baseball game Monday night at Memorial Field.

Marshfield led 2-1 after scoring twice in the third inning. Emmitt Konieczny led off with a walk, Adam Gilbertson followed with a double and after two outs, Bryce Erickson singled to score Konieczny and pinch runner Nathan Richardson came home on an error on the play to put the Blue Devils ahead.

Marshfield pitcher Blake Raab was on a roll on the mound until the sixth, when Plover had seven hits and plated seven runs to pull away.

Marshfield (10-12, 1-6 Wisconsin Valley Legion Conference) is back on the road Tuesday at Wisconsin Rapids.
