Marshfield Junior Legion baseball splits doubleheader at Wisconsin Rapids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield Junior Legion baseball team earned a split with the Wisconsin Ramblers in a Wisconsin Valley Legion Conference doubleheader on Tuesday at Lincoln High School.

Wisconsin Rapids rolled to a 7-1 win the first game before Marshfield turned the tables and won a slugfest 10-7.

Marshfield had six hits, including two by Tyler Kremer in the first game, but could only push one run across in the loss.

In Game 2, Marshfield scored in each of its first five at-bats, which included a four-run fifth inning that pushed the Blue Devils into the lead.

Bryce Schade had two hits and scored three runs, and earned the save with a scoreless seventh inning on the mound for Marshfield (10-9).

Marshfield will host Wausau on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Jack Hackman Field.
