CHIPPEWA FALLS – Marshfield Post 54 opened play at the three-day Chippewa Falls Junior American Legion Baseball Tournament with a 4-2 win over Chippewa Falls Post 77 16U on Friday at Casper Park.
Devin Cherney allowed one run in six innings to earn the pitching victory for the Blue Devils (12-9).
Tyler Kremer had a pair of doubles and scored twice, and Jace Frick had a two-RBI double for Marshfield in the win.
Marshfield will continue play at the tournament Saturday with games against Superior at 5:30 p.m. and Chippewa Falls 17U at 8 p.m.
