Stevens Point scores in final at-bat, defeats Marshfield Senior Legion baseball

MARSHFIELD – Peyton Flees had a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to plate the winning run as Stevens Point Post 6 knocked off Marshfield Post 54 7-6 in a Wisconsin Valley Legion Conference baseball game on Monday at Jack Hackman Field.

Stevens Point (18-7) scored five runs in the top of the fourth to take a 6-2 lead before Marshfield fought back.

Jakob Sadowska doubled and later scored on a wild pitch, and Owen Griesbach had a sacrifice fly to knock Blake Raab to cut Point’s lead to 6-4 in the fourth.

Raab had an RBI single in the fifth, and Emmitt Konieczny had a double and scored after a passed ball and a wild pitch in the sixth, tying the game at 6-6.

Jake Garth led off the top of the seventh for Stevens Point, moved to second on a groundout, stole third and scored on Flees’ fly out to center.

Flees walked three to load the bases in the bottom of the seventh before coaxing a fly out to finish off the win for the Sixers.

Konieczny finished with two doubles and two RBI, and Raab had two hits as well for Marshfield.

Marshfield (12-17) plays at Merrill on Tuesday.
