MERRILL – The Marshfield Post 54 Senior Legion baseball team dropped its fourth game in a row, losing to Merrill 7-2 on Tuesday.
Merrill scored in each of the first four innings and put the game away with a three-run sixth inning, evening its season record at 9-9.
Marshfield scored both of its runs in the second inning. With two outs, Aden Cherney, Caleb Schaefer and Jakob Sadowska had consecutive singles to load the bases. Andrew Sieracki walked in a run and Schaefer scored on an error to give the Blue Devils a 2-1 lead.
That didn’t hold as Merrill scored single runs in the second, third and fourth innings to pull ahead.
Sadowska had two of Marshfield’s five hits as the Blue Devils drop to 12-18 overall and 2-9 in the Wisconsin Valley Legion Conference.
Marshfield plays at Antigo on Thursday at 7 p.m.
