MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Senior Legion baseball team had its offense humming Friday night at Jack Hackman Field, posting double-digit runs in each game of a doubleheader against Viroqua.
Marshfield won 13-3 and 16-6, both in five innings due to the 10-run rule, to improve to 15-18 this summer.
Aden Cherney went the distance on the mound in Game 1 for Marshfield, striking out six.
Andrew Sieracki had two hits and three RBI, and Blake Raab, Owen Griesabach and Jakob Sadowska each added two RBI in the victory for the Blue Devils.
Nathan Richardson had a five-inning complete game in the nightcap for the Blue Devils.
Sieracki, Raab and Sadowska continued their hot hitting for Marshfield. Sieracki had two more hits and three RBI, Sadowska was 3-for-3 and scored three times, and Raab had two hits and scored twice out of the leadoff spot.
Marshfield will wrap up its regular-season schedule at Wausau on Monday before opening the double-elimination Class AAA Regional on Tuesday afternoon against Wisconsin Rapids at D.C. Everest.
