Marshfield Junior Legion pulls past Stevens Point to stay undefeated at 17U Regional

SCANDINAVIA – The Marshfield Junior Legion team moved to 2-0 in the double-elimination 17U American Legion regional with a 8-6 victory over Stevens Point on Saturday afternoon at Ellison Park.

Bryce Schade scored on a fielder’s choice grounder by Drew Lang, and Mason Anderson came across on a two-out error as Marshfield scored twice in the top of the seventh inning to pull out the win.

Despite committing eight errors, which led to five unearned runs, Marshfield was able to stay undefeated in the tournament.

Devin Cherney went the distance on the mound, walking just one and allowing five hits and one earned run to pick up the victory for the Blue Devils.

Marshfield will play Wisconsin Rapids at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
