SCANDINAVIA – The Marshfield Post 54 Junior Legion baseball team suffered its first loss in the 17U Legion Regional on Sunday night, falling in eight innings to Wisconsin Rapids 12-4.

Marshfield rallied from a 4-0 deficit to tie the game with four runs in the fourth innings. Three-straight Wisconsin Rapids errors, a bases-loaded walk, and another error led to the big inning for the Blue Devils.

The score held until the eighth when Wisconsin Rapids exploded for eight runs to pull away. The Ramblers had six hits in the inning.

Marshfield (16-12) was held to two hits in the loss. Wisconsin Rapids (24-6) remains the lone undefeated team in the double-elimination regional.

Marshfield will take on Stevens Point in an elimination game Monday at 4 p.m. The Blue Devils defeated Point on Saturday. The winner will advance to the championship round on Tuesday. The tournament champion advances to the 17U Wisconsin American Legion State Tournament in Kimberly, which begins on Friday.
