PLAINFIELD – Columbus Catholic scored three times in a seven-minute stretch of the first half which propelled the Dons to a 5-1 win over Tri-County in a Central Wisconsin Conference match Thursday at Tri-County High School.
David Thill, Elijah Wolf and Cade Jansen had goals between the 10:30 and 17:24 marks of the first half to put the Dons (4-1, 2-0 CWC) in control. Wolf’s goal was his first of his varsity career.
Jansen added two goals in the second half off of assists from Brady Zimmermann and Elijah Drury to pad the lead for Columbus Catholic.
The Dons held a 17-7 shot advantage, with goalkeeper Carter Sommer making two saves in the win.
Columbus Catholic will travel to La Crosse to take on Aquinas in a nonconference match Saturday at 1 p.m. at Field for Kids. Click here to view the Central Wisconsin Conference standings
