Marshfield girls golf places second at Northwest Wisconsin Classic

COLFAX – The Marshfield girls golf team finished second out of 18 teams at the Northwest Wisconsin Classic at Whitetail Golf Course on Wednesday.

The Tigers finished with a team score of 372, led by Lexxi Oertel’s career-best round of 89 as she placed ninth individually.

Altoona/Eau Claire Regis won the team title with a 364, with Marshfield and St. Croix Central tying for second eight strokes back.

Belle Kongshaug of Colfax/Elk Mound won individual medalist honors with a 76.

McKenzie Holm was 12th with a 91, Brielle Lenz was a stroke behind with a 92, Kylie Laufenberg shot a 100 and Lauren Boon had a 118 as well for the Tigers.

Marshfield, which has won the first Wisconsin Valley Conference tournament meets, will go for a fourth on Friday at The Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
