Marshfield girls tennis grabs nonconference win at Chippewa Falls

CHIPPEWA FALLS – The Marshfield girls tennis team won a pair of doubles matches by tiebreaker and held on for a 4-3 win over Chippewa Falls in a nonconference dual Thursday at Chippewa Falls High School.

The Tigers No. 2 doubles team of Aubrye Layton and Audrey Luedtke survived a third-set tiebreaker with a 10-6 win, and the No. 3 team of Sophia Rosandich and Madeline Kloos went numerous extra points before finally pulling out the win with a 15-13 victory in the tiebreaker.

Marshfield’s No. 1 singles player Lillian Griesbach and the No. 1 doubles team of Lucy Luedtke and Isabel Krueger won in straight sets.

Marshfield hosts Stevens Point for a Wisconsin Valley Conference match Tuesday at 4 p.m.
