Wisconsin Rapids slips past Marshfield by one shot in fourth leg of WVC girls golf tournament

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Host Wisconsin Rapids beat out Marshfield by one stroke to take the team title at the fourth leg of the 2024 Wisconsin Valley Conference Girls Golf Tournament on Friday at the Ridges Golf Course.

Wisconsin Rapids finished with a team score of 191, one shot better than Marshfield. Wausau East/West was third with a 198 and D.C. Everest fourth with a 208.

Marshfield, which had won the first three legs of the seven-meet tournament, had top-10 finishes from McKenzie Holm, who tied for second with a 42, Brielle Lenz, who was fourth with a 43, and Lexxi Oertel, who was in a three-way tie for eighth with a 50.

Kylie Laufenberg added a 57 and Lauren Boon shot 60 to round out the Tigers’ scoring.

The fifth leg of the tournament will be Monday at Wisconsin River Golf Course in Stevens Point.
