Stratford’s DeFoe, Casperson capture titles at home Stratford Bear Cross Country Invite

STRATFORD – Stratford’s Cree DeFoe and Kayla Casperson won the individual races as both the Tigers boys and girls teams placed second at its home Stratford Bear Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday at Tiger Stadium.

DeFoe won the boys 5-kilometer race in 17:16.4, 40 seconds ahead of Rib Lake/Prentice’s Kaleb Scott.

Casperson was the girls champion, finishing in 20:39.3, 44 seconds in front of Athens’ Brianna Sheahan.

The Rib Lake/Prentice boys and Chequamegon girls won the team titles at the seven-team invitational.

Stratford will be back in action Saturday at the Assumption Invitational at Tri-City Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
