ARKDALE – The Marshfield girls golf team closed in on a conference championship with a victory at the sixth leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament on Thursday at Northern Bay Golf Club. Adams-Friendship was the host school.
Brielle Lenz shot a 42 to win medalist honors as Marshfield finished with a team score of 185, seven shots better than Wisconsin Rapids. Wausau East/West was third with a 196 and D.C. Everest placed fourth with a 199.
Lexxi Oertel and Kylie Laufenberg tied for fifth with 47s, McKenzie tied for 10th with a 49, and Lauren Boon shot a 52 to round out Marshfield’s scoring.
The seventh and final leg of the tournament will be held at Marshfield Country Club on Tuesday. Marshfield will clinch the conference championship with a fourth-place finish or better.
