Wausau West hands Marshfield girls tennis first WVC loss

WAUSAU – Wausau West won the battle of undefeated Wisconsin Valley Conference girls tennis teams with a 5-2 win over Marshfield on Thursday at West High School.

Wausau West is now 5-0 in WVC duals, while Marshfield drops to 3-1.

Talia Soskos at No. 3 singles, and the No. 2 doubles team of Aubrey Luedtke and Aubrey Layton picked up straight-set victories for Marshfield.

Marshfield, along with Superior and Onalaska, will compete at the New Richmond Quad on Saturday, before finishing the Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet season next week with matches at Merrill on Tuesday and Wisconsin Rapids on Thursday.
