WITTENBERG – Wittenberg-Birnamwood scored five first-half touchdowns and went on to a 46-14 win over Spencer/Columbus Catholic in a Central Wisconsin Conference Large Division football game Friday night at Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School.

Quarterback Bryson Schmid had 128 yards rushing and scored three times, and Jett Rogowski added a pair of scores for the Chargers, who are now 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the CWC Large.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood outgained the Rockets 415-179.

Spencer/Columbus Catholic scored two late touchdowns, both from Jack Hoeper, who finished with 43 of the team’s 119 rushing yards.

Spencer/Columbus (1-4, 0-3 CWC Large) hosts undefeated Amherst (5-0, 3-0 CWC Large) on Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.
