Columbus Catholic soccer rolls past Gresham/Bowler

MARSHFIELD – Elijah Wolf scored in the opening minute and the Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team went on to an 8-0 rout of Gresham/Bowler in a Central Wisconsin Conference match Monday at Griese Park.

Mason Edwards, Elijah Drury and Carter Sommer each scored twice, and David Thill added another goal for the Dons, who are now 9-2-1 overall and 5-1 in the CWC.

Sommer, who started in goal for the Dons, scored his first career goal off an assist from Daxtyn Wenzel in the 27th minute and tacked on another score with 20 seconds to go before halftime.

Wolf had a pair of assists as well for Columbus Catholic.

The Dons are back at home Tuesday to play Chippewa Falls McDonell/Eau Claire Regis in a nonconference match at Griese Park at 5 p.m.
