SPENCER – Marshfield Columbus Catholic senior Isaac Scheer posted his fourth-straight meet victory as he won the boys 5,000-meter race at the Spencer Cross Country invitational on Tuesday at Frey Field.
Scheer finished in 16:56.9, besting his brother Nathan Scheer, who was second in 17:10.0. Roman Ostermann added a seventh-place finish in the five-team boys meet in 19:28.2.
Spencer’s best boys runner was Camdyn Vogel, who finished 15th in 21:07.9.
Azul Diaz of Abbotsford won the girls race in 20:47.7, 47 seconds in front of Athens’ Brianna Sheahan.
Columbus Catholic’s Abby Wojcik took third in 21:38.3 and Abigail Schlud placed ninth for the Dons in 23:37.9.
Spencer’s top runner was Tahneya Anderson, who was 13th in 26:50.7.
Columbus Catholic will run at the Nightfall Classic at RiverEdge Golf Course in Marshfield on Friday night. Spencer’s next meet is Oct. 3 at Athens.
