Stratford volleyball downs Marathon, takes over sole possession of first in Marawood South

STRATFORD – The Stratford volleyball team won a battle of Marawood Conference South Division undefeated teams on Tuesday night, taking down Marathon 3-1 at Stratford High School.

The Tigers won 23-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-13.

Stratford is now 3-0 in the Marawood South, while Marathon drops to 2-1. The Tigers are the lone remaining undefeated team in the conference as Edgar also lost Tuesday, falling 3-0 to Wausau Newman Catholic.

Emerson Roy had 18 assists, Kalyn Schueller had 14 kills and 13 digs, Carly Pankratz led the defense with 16 digs, and Emily Zuelke added nine kills in the win for Stratford.

Stratford will compete at the Abbotsford Invitational on Saturday.
