WESTFIELD – The Auburndale girls had a pair of top-10 finishes and placed third at the 10-team Westfield Cross Country Classic on Thursday at Westfield High School.
Rose Hasenohrl finished seventh in 21:52.8 and Luise Meyer took 10th in 22:30.7 for Auburndale, which finished third with 83 points in the girls team standings. Berlin won the girls team title with 44 points, with La Crosse Aquinas second with 49.
Aquinas won the boys title with 48 points, just one better than Pardeeville. Auburndale had just four runners and an incomplete team.
Jason Grube was Auburndale’s top boys runner, taking 24th in 20:50.4.
Declan Greeg of Aquinas won the boys race in 16:40.4, while Alexa Myre of Aquinas was the girls individual champion, finishing in 20:44.4, just 1.7 seconds ahead of Westfield’s Haddie Showen.
Auburndale will compete at the Athens Invitational at Erbach Park next Thursday, Oct. 3.
