MERRILL – The Marshfield volleyball team remains undefeated in the Wisconsin Valley Conference after a 3-0 sweep of Merrill on Thursday night at Merrill High School.

The Tigers cruised 25-18, 25-14, 25-12, to improve to 6-0 in the WVC. Merrill falls to 3-3.

Four Marshfield players had at least seven kills, led by Lauren Homolka and Sophia Olson, who each had nine. Della Smith and Alyssa Foemmel each contributed seven kills, setter Kailyn Kurth had 23 assists, and Zaida Kolbeck had 12 digs.

“Kailyn Kurth did a really good job of spreading the ball around to our hitters, putting them in good spots to be successful,” Marshfield coach Josh Knecht said. “We had another nice night from the service line putting Merrill in out-of-system offense a lot. We served 92 percent as a team and had 11 aces in the three games.”

Marshfield will compete at the Appleton East Invitational on Saturday.
