MARSHFIELD – Wausau West scored in the 12th minute and Marshfield never recovered as the Warriors pulled out a 2-0 victory in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys soccer match Thursday night at Heiting Community Stadium at Marshfield High School.

The Warriors (6-1-1, 2-1 WVC) scored again at the 72:30 mark to finish off the road win.

Marshfield falls to 4-3-3 overall and 2-1-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.

“We started slow and never really found a rhythm of any sort,” Marshfield coach Jeff Molter said. “(It was) disappointing to say the least we are a better squad than what we put together.”

Marshfield will host River Falls for a nonconference match Saturday at 11 a.m.
