Stratford volleyball sweeps five matches to win title at Abbotsford Invitational; Spencer goes 0-5

ABBOTSFORD – The Stratford volleyball team swept five-straight matches and claimed the title at the Abbotsford Invitational on Saturday at Abbotsford High School.

The Tigers defeated Rosholt 25-16, 25-13; Spencer 25-13, 25-9; Loyal 25-17, 25-7; Abbotsford 25-16, 25-20; and Cadott 25-13, 25-17, to improve to 24-3 this season.

Spencer finished 0-5, also losing to Abbotsford 25-15, 25-20; Loyal 25-17, 25-21; Rosholt 25-15, 18-25, 15-6; and Cadott 25-12, 25-13.

Stratford was electric on offense, finishing with 89 kills and 36 service aces in its five matches.

Kalyn Schueller had 32 kills and 13 aces, and led the defense with 46 digs, Daisy Yoder added 16 kills, and Emerson Roy had 53 assists for the Tigers.

McKenzie Novotny added 10 kills, Laney Pankratz had 25 assists, and Carly Pankratz also had 25 assists for Stratford.

Carmen Krause had 19 kills, Ema Schultz added 12 kills, Chloe Timm finished with eight service aces and 27 assists, and Alexa Stange had a team-high 59 digs for Spencer in its five matches.

Both teams are back in action Tuesday as Spencer hosts Neillsville and Stratford travels to Edgar.
