MARSHFIELD – The Columbus Catholic soccer team held Tri-County to just one shot and pounded home eight goals in an 7-0 shutout on Monday at Griese Park.
Cade Jansen had a hat trick, including two goals in the first half, as the Dons cruised to the victory and are now 12-2-1 overall and 7-1 in the Central Wisconsin Conference. Tri-County falls to 3-7 and 1-7 in conference play.
The win pushes the Dons back into a tie for first place in the conference with Amherst, which lost to Wausau Newman Catholic on Monday. Click here to view the Central Wisconsin Conference soccer standings
Xan Rodriguez scored twice, and Ben Weiland and Ray Becker added goals for the Dons, who held a 33-1 shot advantage.
Columbus Catholic’s next game is Thursday at Wausau Newman Catholic.
