WAUPACA – The Marshfield boys and girls each had a pair of top-10 finishers and both placed second at the nine-team Waupaca Cross Country Invitational on Thursday at Waupaca High School.
Winneconne swept both team titles, with Marshfield taking second as the boys finished with 65 points and the girls with 62.
Owen Lencki of Waupaca won the boys race in 16:14.2. Marshfield’s Owen Hoerneman placed fifth in 17:07.4 and Lincoln Berger took 10th in 17:51.6.
Sienna Timm of Waupaca won the girls race in 20:05.0, 29 seconds ahead of Marshfield’s Natalie Scharenbroch. Adeline Lonsdale added a ninth-place in 21:30.3 for the Tigers.
Marshfield’s next meet is Oct. 12 at the Wisconsin Rapids Invitational for its final regular-season run before the Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet on Oct. 19.
