ROSHOLT – Marshfield Columbus Catholic’s Isaac Scheer continued his terrific 2024 campaign with a runner-up finish in the boys race at the Rosholt Cross Country Invitational on Thursday at Rosholt High School.
Stevens Point Pacelli’s Luke Eiden won the boys 5-kilometer race in 15:36.70, 6 ½ seconds in front of Isaac Scheer, who ran in 15;43.27. Nathan Scheer took seventh in 16:59.29 and Roman Ostermann was 37th in 18:56.22 as well for the Dons, who finished sixth in the team standings.
The Columbus Catholic girls also had two top-15 finishes as Abby Wojcik placed ninth in 20:58.67 and Abigail Schuld finished 15th in 22:11.01. The Dons only had three runners and did not figure in the team standings, which was won by Wittenberg-Birnamwood.
Columbus Catholic’s last regular season meet is Oct. 12 at the Wisconsin Rapids Invitational.
