Stratford volleyball sweeps Assumption, finishes off unbeaten Marawood South title

STRATFORD – The Stratford volleyball team finished off its second-straight undefeated Marawood Conference South Division championship with a 3-0 sweep of Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Tuesday night at Stratford High School.

The Tigers won 25-11, 25-6, 25-21, in winning their 22nd match in a row this season.

Stratford senior Kalyn Schueller surpassed the 1,000-dig mark for her career with eight on the night and she also had a team-best nine kills in the victory.

McKenzie Novotny and Tria Tubbs each contributed six kills, Laney Pankratz had 12 assists, Emerson Roy finished with seven assists, and Carly Pankratz also had eight digs for the Tigers.

Stratford will compete at the Marawood Crossover Challenge at Marathon on Oct. 15 before wrapping up its regular season Oct. 17 with a nonconference match at Lakeland.
