A number of former local high school athletes have moved on to the next level and are playing sports collegiately across the country.

McKee wins Mountain West cross country award
Joshua McKee, a 2020 graduate of Marshfield High School, was named the Mountain West Conference men’s cross country Freshman of the Week of the week ending Oct. 5.

McKee, a freshman at Utah State University, was the fourth-consecutive Aggies’ freshman to claim the award.

McKee finished 14th at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa., on Oct. 5, finishing the 8-kilometer race in 23:51.2. It was just his second varsity race.

Joseph McKee, Joshua’s twin brother, placed 47th at the event in 24:19.8, as Utah State finished third in the team standings.

LeMoine, Dagit part of UW-La Crosse football team
Marshfield High School graduates Wyatt LeMoine (Class of 2021) and Isaac Dagit (Class of 2023) are members of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse football team.

LeMoine, a senior wide receiver, has 12 catches for 249 yards and two touchdowns in five games for the Eagles.

LeMoine caught touchdown passes of 80 and 22 yards, his only two receptions of the game, in UW-La Crosse’s season-opening 35-0 win over Rensselaer (N.Y.) on Sept. 5. He also grabbed four passes for 62 yards in last week’s 34-33 loss at UW-Oshkosh.

Dagit, a sophomore defensive end, as seen action in two games for the Eagles, compiling one tackle and a half-sack.

La Crosse (2-3, 0-2 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) plays at UW-Eau Claire on Saturday.

Three local grads playing football at UW-Eau Claire
Marshfield High School graduates Matt Donovan and Noah Peterson, and Auburndale alum Adam Dorshorst are members of the UW-Eau Claire football team.

Donovan, a senior safety and a 2021 grad of Marshfield, made his season debut Oct. 5, making one tackle in the Blugolds’ loss at UW-River Falls on Oct. 5.

Dorshorst is a sophomore offensive lineman and Peterson is a freshman offensive lineman. Neither have seen action thus far this season.

Eau Claire (2-3, 1-1 WIAC) hosts UW-La Crosse on Saturday.
