Auburndale volleyball finishes regular season with sweep of Pittsville

AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale volleyball team finished its regular-season schedule with a 3-0 nonconference sweep of Pittsville on Thursday at Auburndale High School.

The Eagles dominated, winning 25-13, 25-14, 25-14.

Sidney Wolff, Lily Bellanti and Myah Katzenberger led a balanced Auburndale offensive attack with eight kills each. Alana Steines added six kills, and Oriah Harris five kills and three service aces.

Chesney Nagel had 21 assists and 10 digs, Jaylnn Scherr had 12 assists, and Kylie Anderson finished with a team-high 17 digs for the Eagles.

Auburndale will open WIAA postseason play with a Division 4 regional semifinal at home on Thursday, Oct. 24, against the winner of Tuesday’s quarterfinal between Algoma and Manawa.
