WESTBORO – The Stratford boys and Auburndale girls each had third-place team finishes at the 2024 Marawood Conference Cross Country Meet on Thursday.
Rib Lake/Prentice won the boys team title with 44 points, just ahead of Phillips, which had 47. Stratford was third with 72 points and Auburndale eighth with 225.
Wisconsin Rapids Assumption, behind individual champion Lucy Dolan, won the girls team title with 43 points. Phillips was again the runner-up with 55, with Auburndale third with 82 and Stratford fifth with 112.
Dolan won the girls 5-kilometer race in 18:26.9, 35 seconds in front of Phillips’ Leah Harper.
Stratford’s Kayla Casperson placed fourth in 20:49.6 and Breleigh Skaya was 13th in 22:14.6 for the Tigers.
The Auburndale girls had two top-10 finishes as Luise Meyer was ninth in 21:34.7 and Rose Hasenohrl finished 10th in 21:35.1.
Gavin Esterholm of Phillips won the boys race in 17:10.4, 12 seconds ahead of Cree DeFoe of Stratford. Ethan Heeg added a sixth-place finish for Stratford in 18:04.0.
Jaxon Grube was the Auburndale boys top runner, taking 40th in 20:36.6.
Auburndale will be at Westfield and Stratford at Colby for WIAA Division 3 sectional meets on Saturday, Oct. 26.
