MERRILL – Terra Risa and Brooke Begotka each won two individual events and were part of two relay wins as the Marshfield girls swim team defeated Merrill 88-81 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual Thursday at Prairie River Middle School.
Risa won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:26.50 and the 100 backstroke in 1:05.06, and Begotka was first in the 100 butterfly in 1:01.95 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:17.39 to help lift the Tigers to the win.
Risa, Keira Raab, Begotka and Shiloh Smith won the 200 medley relay in 2:01.23; Smith, Gracie Ridgway, Raab and Begotka finished first in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:49.74; and Smith won the 100 freestyle in 59.75 to give Marshfield seven event wins.
Both teams are now 2-3 in Wisconsin Valley Conference duals this season.
Marshfield will wrap up its regular season with its final WVC dual meet at Wisconsin Rapids next Thursday, Oct. 24. The Tigers will head right back to Wisconsin Rapids for the Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet on Oct. 31.
