Columbus Catholic volleyball drops Cloverbelt Conference Crossover to Eau Claire Regis

MARSHFIELD – The Columbus Catholic volleyball team finished its regular season with a 3-1 loss to Eau Claire Regis in the first-place match of the Cloverbelt Conference Crossovers on Thursday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Regis won 26-17, 26-24, 20-25, 25-15.

Shelby Spata had 12 kills and 19 digs, Alayna Egle had 24 assists, and Gracie Wilczek, Aubrey Waldhauser and Chayse Blenker each had eight kills for the Dons.

Sophie Wilczek chipped in 12 assists and four service aces, Waldhauser had five aces, and Delia Trader had 11 digs as well for Columbus Catholic.

Columbus Catholic will open postseason play at home Thursday, Oct. 24, with a WIAA Division 5 regional semifinal against the winner of Tuesday’s quarterfinal between Augusta and Port Edwards.
