Stratford volleyball downs Stanley-Boyd in WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal

STRATFORD – The top-seeded Stratford volleyball team took care of business in its WIAA playoff opener, defeating No. 9 Stanley-Boyd 3-1 on Thursday night in a Division 3 regional semifinal at Stratford High School.

The Tigers won 25-21, 17-25, 25-9, 25-23, to win their 25th match in a row. Stratford will host No. 5 Durand-Arkansaw on Saturday in a D-3 regional final at 7 p.m. Durand-Arkansaw came back from a 2-0 deficit to stun No. 4 seed Colby 3-2 on Thursday.

Kalyn Schueller had 13 kills, four service aces and six digs, Daisy Yoder added 10 kills and five digs, Emerson Roy had 18 assists and Carly Pankratz finished with a team-high 10 digs for the Tigers.

McKenzie Novotny added seven kills and five digs and Laney Pankratz had 10 assists as well for Stratford.
