STRATFORD – The Stratford volleyball team is regional champions for the second year in a row after sweeping Durand-Arkansaw 3-0 in a WIAA Division 3 regional final Saturday night at Stratford High School.
Stratford rolled 25-17, 25-10, 25-17 to win its 26th match in a row.
The No. 1 seed Tigers (30-4) will host upset-minded Prescott (11-12), the No. 10 seed, which has pulled off two upsets already, in a D-3 sectional semifinal Thursday night at 7 p.m.
Barron and Chippewa Falls McDonell will battle in the other sectional semifinal with the winners facing off in a sectional final on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Barron with a berth in the state tournament on the line.
Kalyn Schueller continued her tremendous senior season with 11 kills, four service aces and six digs to lead Stratford in both categories.
Emerson Roy had 13 assists, Laney Pankratz added seven assists, Tria Tubbs contributed seven kills, and Carly Pankratz and McKenzie Novotny each had five digs for the Tigers.
