STRATFORD – No. 10 seed Prescott continued its torrid run of upsets, knocking off No. 1 seed Stratford 3-1 in a WIAA Division 3 girls volleyball sectional semifinal Thursday night at Stratford High School.
Prescott (12-12) won 16-25, 25-15, 27-25, 25-17, to advance to a D-3 sectional final at the No. 1 seed in the top of the sectional 1 bracket, Barron (33-2), on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Stratford could not hold on after winning the first set and saw its 26-match winning streak snapped as it finishes the season with a 31-4 record.
Prescott defeated the top three seeds in the lower half of the sectional bracket.
Kalyn Schueller had 16 kills and 10 digs, Carly Pankratz finished with a team-high 16 digs, and setters Emerson Roy and Laney Pankratz had 18 and 17 assists, respectively for the Tigers.
Daisy Yoder and Tria Tubbs each added nine kills in the loss for Stratford.
