Columbus Catholic earns five spots, Spencer two on 2024 All-Cloverbelt Conference East Division Volleyball Team

Champion Marshfield Columbus Catholic had five selections, including two first-team picks, to the 2024 All-Cloverbelt Conference East Division Volleyball Team, as voted on by the eight conference coaches following the season.

Columbus Catholic junior Shelby Spata and senior Aubrey Waldhauser were among the seven players named to the first team.

Spata led the Dons, who won their eighth-straight Cloverbelt East championship, with 387 kills and was second on the team in digs with 347 in 42 matches this season as Columbus Catholic finished as the Division 5 runner-up at the WIAA state tournament.

Waldhauser ended up second on the Dons with 237 kills and a team-high 74 service aces.

Spencer senior Alexa Stange was also among the first-team honorees after piling up 363 digs for the Rockets.

Colby’s Daelyn Reick and Savana Thomsen, Gilman’s Abby Chaplinski and Loyal’s Addysen Wolf round out the first-team selections. Wolf led the Greyhounds with 348 kills during the season as they ended up tied for second with Colby in the conference standings.

Chaplinski was named Player of the Year.

Columbus Catholic libero Delia Trader, Loyal’s Hope Peroshek and Molly Zvolena, and Neillsville’s Kaylee Lawrence were among the second-team picks.

Among those grabbing honorable mention accolades were Columbus Catholic’s Alayna Egle and Gracie Wilczek, Spencer sophomore Carmen Krause, Loyal senior Autumn Zvolena, and Neillsville senior Keltie Schoen.
