Stratford volleyball player Kalyn Schueller has been voted the Schierl Tire and Auto Service High School Athlete of the Month for October.
MarshfieldAreaSports.com & Zaleski Sports co-sponsor the award, which is in its 12th year.
Varsity athletes from the following high schools are eligible to be nominated for the award, which will be given out monthly from September 2024 through June 2025: Abbotsford, Assumption, Auburndale, Colby, Columbus Catholic, Edgar, Granton, Greenwood, Loyal, Marathon, Marshfield, Mosinee, Neillsville, Pacelli, Pittsville, Port Edwards, Spencer, Stratford, Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln.
Schueller received 2,751 of the nearly 6,700 votes cast during voting from Nov. 4-10 at MarshfieldAreaSports.com.
Other nominees for the October award were: Columbus Catholic volleyball player Alayna Egle, Pacelli cross country runner Luke Eiden, Marshfield boys soccer and football player Keegan Fredrick, Auburndale football player Blake Raab and Loyal volleyball player Addysen Wolf.
Schueller, a senior, passed 1,000 digs for her career in a victory on Oct. 9 over Wisconsin Rapids. She has continuously led the Tigers in kills throughout the season, piling up 16 in a sectional semifinal loss to Prescott on Oct. 31, 11 in a regional final win over Durand-Arkansaw on Oct. 26 and 13 in the Tigers’ regional semifinal victory over Stanley-Boyd on Oct. 24.
Schueller joins Abbotsford football player Christian Fuentes (September) as a winner of the Schierl Tire Athlete of the Month award during the 2024-25 school year.
