Columbus Catholic’s Jansen, Duda named to first team of 2024 All-Central Wisconsin Conference Soccer Team

Champion Marshfield Columbus Catholic had two first-team selections and nine players overall named to the 2024 All-Central Wisconsin Conference Soccer Team, as voted on by the conference coaches following the season.

Columbus Catholic’s Jeff Edwards was named Coach of the Year as the Dons won the conference title with an 11-1 record and an 18-4-1 overall mark as the they reached the WIAA Division 4 sectional semifinals.

Columbus Catholic junior forward Cade Jansen and senior defender Ezra Duda were among the 11 players named to the first team.

Jansen led the Dons with 21 goals and also had six assists this season for the Dons.

Junior forward Mason Edwards, and sophomores Cole Wallace (midfielder), Ben Weiland (defender) and Carter Sommer (goalkeeper) were second-team selections for the Dons.

Edwards was second on the team with 16 goals and led the squad with 10 assists, while Weiland had eight goals and Sommer finished the year with an .828 save percentage in 23 games in net.

Sophomore forward Xan Rodgriguez, freshman defender Colin Stocks and sophomore defender Ray Becker earned honorable mention status for Columbus Catholic.

Wausau Newman Catholic senior defender Nolyn Lindner was picked as the CWC Player of the Year.
