Marshfield senior middle hitter Lauren Homolka was named Player of the Year and joined teammate Kailyn Kurth as first-team selections on the 2024 All-Wisconsin Valley Conference Volleyball Team, which was voted on by the seven conference coaches following the season.
Homolka led the conference with 133 kills, a stunning .431 kill percentage and in blocks per set at 1.15.
Kurth, the Tigers’ setter, was second in the WVC in assists per set at 8.33 as Marshfield won its fifth conference championship in a row. As a result, first-year coach Josh Knecht was named WVC Coach of the Year.
The Marshfield duo was joined on the first team by Stevens Point setter Katie Komowski and outside hitter Nora Kruger, D.C. Everest setter Sidney Geiss, outside hitter/libero Ryden Lehrke, and middle blocker Isabella Kraege.
Marshfield also had a pair of second-team picks in junior middle hitter and Sophia Olson and senior libero Zaida Kolbeck. Junior Della Smith and senior Alyssa Foemmel were honorable mention selections for the Tigers.
