Auburndale girls basketball dominates Amherst to open season

AMHERST – Twelve different players scored for Auburndale in a 60-10 rout of Amherst in a nonconference girls basketball game Tuesday night to open the 2024-25 season.

Mya Kings finished with 10 points, Rose Hasenohrl added nine and Breleigh Grimm chipped in seven to lead the way for the Eagles.

Auburndale shot 43 percent from the field (24-for-53), which included six 3-pointers in the victory.

Oriah Harris added six points and a team-high nine rebounds for Auburndale.

Auburndale is back in action Tuesday, Nov. 26, for its home opener and first Marawood Conference South Division game of the season against Wausau Newman Catholic. Thursday’s scheduled game at Stratford has been postponed due to Stratford’s game in the WIAA football finals.
