Stratford girls basketball starts new season with rout of Merrill

MERRILL – The Stratford girls basketball team opened its 2024-25 season with a dominating 71-35 win over Merrill in a nonconference matchup Tuesday night at Merrill High School.

Carly Pankratz poured in 21 points and Emily Zuelke added 16 for the Tigers, who cruised out to a 33-11 lead by halftime and never looked back.

Tria Tubbs chipped in 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds in the victory for Stratford.

Stratford will be back in action Tuesday, Nov. 26, against Marathon for its home and Marawood Conference South Division opener. The Tigers’ scheduled game against Auburndale for this Thursday has been postponed due to the school’s football team playing in the WIAA finals in Madison.
