STRATFORD – Cody Hanke scored 21 points to lead undefeated Marathon past Stratford 67-42 in a Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball game Thursday night at Stratford High School.
Marathon cruised out to a 40-24 halftime lead and closed out the game with a 19-4 run in the fourth quarter.
The Raiders, ranked fourth in the latest Wissports.com Division 4 state coaches poll, improve to 15-0 and 9-0 in the Marawood South. Stratford falls to 7-7 and 3-6 in conference.
Troy Mengel scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Derek Austin had 11 points, five steals and four assists for Stratford.
Brody Hurtis chipped in 15 points on 7 of 11 shooting and had five assists for Marathon.
Stratford plays at Northland Lutheran on Tuesday.
