Auburndale boys basketball edges Colby in overtime

COLBY – Auburndale outscored Colby by eight points in overtime to win its 2024-25 boys basketball season-opener 70-62 on Monday night at Colby High School.

Blake Raab hit seven 3-pointers and scored 33 points to lead the way for the Eagles. Josh Lundgren added 12 points on the strength of 6-for-9 shooting at the free throw line, and Thomas Aue chipped in eight points and a team-high seven rebounds for Auburndale.

The game was tight throughout as Auburndale led 32-31 at halftime, only to see Colby knot up the score at the end of regulation. The Eagles dominated the overtime with a 12-4 run.

Reed Fleischmann had 17 points to lead Colby.

Auburndale will play a Marawood Conference crossover game at Abbotsford on Friday.
