MEDFORD – The Wisconsin Valley Union girls hockey team scored five unanswered goals from late in the first period to early in the third and pulled past Medford 7-2 in a nonconference game Tuesday at Simek Ice Arena.

Maya Hernandez, Kendall Baneck, Brynn Baneck, Jai Dee Menge and Lila Cuff had goals in the 5-0 run for the Union as they turned a tied 1-1 game into a commanding 6-1 lead.

Jenna Jones added a goal late for Wisconsin Valley.

The Union will host the Badger Lightning (Baraboo Co-op) on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Ice Hawks Ice Arena in Stevens Point.
