MARSHFIELD – Marshfield senior Simon Dagit won two individual events and helped a relay team win a third, but the Tigers came up short in a 109-61 loss to Stevens Point in the Wisconsin Valley Conference boys swimming dual meet opener for both teams on Thursday at Marshfield High School.
Dagit won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.06 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 58.42 in back-to-back races to post Marshfield’s lone individual wins.
Dagit teamed with Carson Klumb, Zach Kayhart and Kevin Buth to win the 200 freestyle relay for Marshfield as the team won in 1:36.79.
Kayhart had a pair of individual runner-up finishes for the Tigers, taking second in the 200 individual medley in 2:19.63 and the 100 backstroke in 1:04.97.
Marshfield will compete at the Chippewa Falls Invitational on Saturday.
