LA CROSSE – The Marshfield boys basketball dominated the second half on its way to its first victory of the season, a 61-34 win over La Crosse Central on Thursday night at Central High School.
The Tigers (1-1) found themselves in a tight game, leading 24-20 at halftime, but controlled the second half with a 37-14 advantage to pull away for the win.
Brooks Hinson finished with 21 points and Valin Ramberg was a perfect 7-for-7 from the field, adding 14 points for Marshfield.
Marshfield shot 65.8 percent from the field (27-for-41) and knocked down seven 3-pointers, which included two each from Camden Kolstad and Joey Ketterer.
La Crosse Central (1-1), on the other hand, missed all 15 of its 3-point attempts and were just 16-for-44 overall.
Marshfield will enjoy a week off before traveling to D.C. Everest on Friday, Dec. 13, for its Wisconsin Valley Conference opener.
