BLACK RIVER FALLS – The Auburndale wrestling team opened its season with five individual titles and the team championship at the 22-team Black River Falls Invitational on Saturday.
Carson Weiler (113 pounds), Derek Godard (120), Zade Grassel (126), Colton Weiler (150) and Wyatt Malsin (165) each won weight-class titles for the Eagles, who racked up 238.5 points to easily win the team standings. Neillsville was a distant second with 163.5 points.
Trevor Trowbridge was the runner-up at 157 pounds, and Sawyer Kundinger (106) and Alex Becker (285) each placed third for Auburndale.
Auburndale will host Abbotsford, Athens and Stratford for a Marawood Conference quad on Thursday.
