Marshfield girls basketball player Zaida Kolbeck wins voting for November Schierl Tire and Auto Service High School Athlete of the Month

Marshfield girls basketball player Zaida Kolbeck has been voted the Schierl Tire and Auto Service High School Athlete of the Month for November.

MarshfieldAreaSports.com & Zaleski Sports co-sponsor the award, which is in its 12th year.

Varsity athletes from the following high schools are eligible to be nominated for the award, which will be given out monthly from September 2024 through June 2025: Abbotsford, Assumption, Auburndale, Colby, Columbus Catholic, Edgar, Granton, Greenwood, Loyal, Marathon, Marshfield, Mosinee, Neillsville, Pacelli, Pittsville, Port Edwards, Spencer, Stratford, Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln.

Kolbeck received 2,638 of the nearly 6,400 votes cast during voting from Dec. 2-8 at MarshfieldAreaSports.com.

Other nominees for the November award were: Edgar football player Maverick Butt, Stratford football player Alec Chapel, Pacelli girls basketball player Madelyn Pionek, Mosinee boys basketball player Brayden Reinke and Columbus Catholic volleyball player Shelby Spata.

Kolbeck, a senior guard, scored 20 points in each of the Tigers’ two games in November to open the 2024-25 season. Kolbeck made three 3-pointers in a 57-49 loss to Eau Clarie North on Nov. 21 and had two makes from long range in a 49-44 loss at Neenah on Nov. 26.

Kolbeck joins Abbotsford football player Christian Fuentes (September) and Stratford volleyball player Kalyn Schueller (October) as a winner of the Schierl Tire and Auto Service Athlete of the Month award during the 2024-25 school year.
