Stratford girls basketball moves to 5-0 with road win at Edgar

EDGAR – The Stratford girls basketball team remained undefeated as it overcame a poor shooting night with a big defensive effort and beat Edgar 51-32 in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday night at Edgar High School.

The Tigers shot just 16-for-68 from the field, but held Edgar to under 20 points in both halves to improve to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Marawood South.

Carly Pankratz had 23 points, going 9-for-11 at the free throw line, to lead the way for the Tigers.

Brandi Halvorsen scored 12 points for Edgar (1-5, 0-3 Marawood South).

Stratford is back in action Friday at home against Athens for a Marawood crossover game.
